Elina Pirinen’s Bedroom Dances brings to the audience a wondrous bedroom dance for enjoyment and horror, a strange physical experience and empathy of 14 dancers, a glowing color saturation and a mesmerizing undercurrent layered through composition in a common force field.

These dancers are wise magicians of the bedroom and the subconscious. Their generous rituals and the stage, the queer, fun-loving atmosphere, sensuality, playfulness, the temperaments flowing through the channels of the nail tips, the base of the skull and the pelvic magma center create sound-visual, simultaneous body-psychic dances and events, in which eros, fun, rage, folklore, sadness, oxygen, the relationship with the audience and a look through time to the future daydream, session and adjust with each other. The chest of the bedroom thirsts for intimate contact or active playful movements for the disgust generated by that contact.

Bedroom Dances is a beautiful, delicious, artistic, entertaining and emotional coming together of dance artist-lyricist Elina Pirinen, third-year dance students in the Theatre Academy’s dance arts degree program, dramaturg-costume designer Heidi Väätänen, sound design student Linda Lazarov, lighting design student Rasmus Strandell and the audience.
